Christianity can't be Compartmentalized

We can compartmentalize lots of things in our lives, like books, hobbies, and conversations, but faith is not meant to be compartmentalized. It should affect everything we think, say, and do. If I am a Christian and think like a Christian only when I'm with Christian people, that's not who I really am. It's easier to keep "the faith stuff" in the church box, but real, authentic, life-giving faith bleeds into and affects every area of life.

This includes:
  • what you read
  • what you say
  • how you respond to irritating and annoying situations/people
  • how you spend your time
  • what you think of others (even when they won't find out what you're thinking)
We would never be able to walk this out on our own. Left to ourselves, we compartmentalize because that's the best we can do. But when we realize that our best will never be enough and trust God to work in us, we'll realize that it is possible for our faith to affect everything we do! By God's grace!
